Annual Mountain View Spring Bluegrass Festival Returns March 6-8

MOUNTAIN VIEW – Mark your calendars for Mar. 6, 7 & 8! The Mountain View Spring Bluegrass Festival returns to the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View for three days and two nights of traditional bluegrass and gospel music. The twice-yearly festivals, held during the second weekend in March and November combines some of the biggest names in bluegrass with some of the region’s most popular bands. The line-up this March includes Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Authentic Unlimited, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Sylamore Special, The Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Daryl Mosley, Shelton & Williams, The Marksmen Quartet, and Lori King and Junction 63.
Thursday evening kicks off with an all-gospel show at the Ozark Folk Center’s Highlands Theater beginning at 6 p.m. with The Marksmen Quartet followed by Lori King & Junction 63, Shelton & Williams, Daryl Mosley, and Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers. The show will close with a $100 cash drawing at 10 p.m.
Friday’s matinee show opens with a dance performance by Simply Southern Cloggers from 11:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Daryl Mosley takes the stage at noon followed by the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Authentic Unlimited, and a $100 cash drawing to close the show at 4 p.m. After the dinner break, Simply Southern Cloggers are back at 5:45 p.m. with the Tennessee Bluegrass Band taking the stage at 6 p.m. followed by Daryl Mosley, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, and Authentic Unlimited. There will be a $100 cash drawing to close out the evening at 10 p.m.
Saturday’s matinee show begins at noon with Mountain View all-star band Sylamore Special followed by the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Authentic Unlimited, and Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out. There will be a $100 cash drawing before the dinner break at 4 p.m. A Southern fare dinner buffet will be available at the Ozark Folk Center’s hilltop restaurant, The Skillet.
The Saturday program continues with a 15-minute set by Mountain View’s Music Roots Ensemble at 5:45 p.m. Music to follow by the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Sylamore Special, Authentic Unlimited, and Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out. The weekend will end with a $200 cash drawing at 10 p.m.
The 23rd Annual Spring Bluegrass Festival is hosted by the Mountain View Bluegrass Assoc. Inc., a non-profit organization that supports the Music Roots program, which teaches traditional stringband instruments like fiddle, banjo, guitar, upright bass, and mandolin to local youth in the Mountain View area.
