DEER — The Deer/Mt. Judea School District Board of Education met in regular session Oct. 21. Among actions taken that night was approval of senior and junior class sponsors and authorization given for senior trip destinations next spring.
Deer seniors want to go to Destin, Florida, April 24-29, said Lindsey Burdine, counselor at Deer High School. The cost for the trip is estimated to run about $15,000 that the class will have to raise between now and then. The class' backup destination is a lake house in Branson, Missouri.
Mt. Judea seniors want to go to Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 2-6, at an estimated cost of about $16,000. The class has not settled on a backup destination. It's beach or bust, said Principal Lindsey Graham.
The board approved both of the trips.
