EHC taking applications for Christmas toys

Posted

The Newton County Extension Homemakers Council clubs will again be sponsoring the Newton County EHC Toy Drive for children. The program is available for children ages birth to 18 years of age. To be eligible, each child must be a resident of Newton County. Those who are 18 must still be attending school.
Any family that is interested in participating may come to the Newton Co Extension office in Jasper or call the office at 446-2240. Applications can also be picked up at the Christian Food Room and DHS office in Jasper. To place a child’s name on the list, the parent or the custodial guardian of the child may call and get an application or come in person to give information about that child. Applications cannot be completed over the phone, but they can be mailed to the family or mailed back to the Extension Office.
An application must be completed for each child in a family.

The last day to sign up is Monday, Nov. 25, 2024 or until the first 50 names have been received. The pick up day for the Christmas gifts will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at the Newton County Extension Office from 9-11 a.m.
Any community organization or individual that would like to donate toys or money may take that donation to the Newton County Extension Office, at 504 W Court Street in Jasper. The donations to the EHC are tax deductible.
The Newton County EHC will be working with the county schools and local churches to make sure as many children as possible get to have a merry Christmas. It is important that families only receive from one organization to make this happen.
