Retired Army First Sergeant Jerry Peeler will be honored at this year's Newton County Veterans Day observance. It will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center in Jasper. The event was originally set to be held at Bradley Park, but had to be moved due to flooding that had occurred at the park last Tuesday.
The annual observance is hosted by Newton County Veterans Service Officer Gerald Lamb.
All veterans, their families and all patriots are invited to attend the formal ceremony and then take part in a meal that will be served afterwards.
