ADE announces results of eighth annual All-State Coding Competition

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce the winners of the Eighth Annual All-State Coding Competition held April 20, 2024, at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
The returning state champions from Conway High School won first place for the second year. Rogers High School students placed second, and Bentonville West High School students were third.
A total of 43 students from 15 schools competed for three hours in the competition hosted by the ADE Office of Computer Science.
The following students and sponsors placed in the competition:
Conway High School: Ellie Feng, Thomas Ryan Coolidge, and Hudson Taylor Ledbetter; Sponsor: Kimberly Raup
Rogers High School: Nicholas Robinson, Jai Gandhi, and Deven Nguyen; Sponsor: Jeffery Anderson
Bentonville West High School: Veera Sai Joshik Unnam, Miles Briscoe Higman, and Jhon Javier Perez-Rodriguez; Sponsor: Matthew Possehl
Each of the first-place students will receive a $2,000 award that will be deposited into a 529 College Savings Plan, and the school will receive $10,000 to support its computer science program. Second-place students will each receive $1,000 in a 529 College Savings Plan, with the school receiving $6,000. Third-place students will receive $500 each in a 529 College Savings Plan, and the school will receive $4,000.
