YELLVILLE — Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reported Thursday that Investigators opened two death investigations in unrelated incidents on Wednesday, March 19th.
The first incident involved a structure fire that occurred at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday. Alexander stated the sheriff’s office dispatch received a call reporting a structure fire at aresidence on Marion County (MC) road 7058 near Flippin. Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and found a structure fully engulfed in flames.
After the fire was extinguished, the body of an unidentified person was found inside the residence. A sheriff’s office investigator and a fire investigator from the Mountain Home Fire Department (MHFD) conducted interviews and processed the scene. The body was recovered and transferred to the Marion County Coroner pending transfer to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy to obtain positive identification of the victim, and to determine the cause and manner of death.
Other responding agencies included the Flippin Fire Department (FFD), Yellville Volunteer Fire Department (YFVD), Fairview Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD), and the Cotter Fire Department (CFD).
