Missouri man awaits extradition to Newton County

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A trip to Compton has landed a Springfield, Missouri, man in hot water.
During a visit to a cabin in Compton, 42-year old Jared Ross Vandyne had allegedly inappropiate sexual contact with an eight-year old family member.
A probable cause affidavit was file the Arkansas State Police in Newton County allegeding the charges.
Newton County Sheriff’s office started the investigation before giving the findings to the state police. The Arkansas State Police found enough evidence to pursue the charges.

Vandyne is awaiting extradition to Jasper where he will be held on a $100K bond.
During initial investigation interviews, the accused stated that he was intoxicated and he slept walked into the victims room.
The child’s statements paralleled those of Vandyne.
Charges filed against Vandyne include second-degree sexual assault.
