Sign up now for Jasper's summer feeding program

Jasper School District Food Service Manager Tina Byrd reported registration has begun for the school district's Summer Feeding Program.
She spoke at the May 14 Jasper School District Wellness Meeting. Byrd said she already has 568 clients signed up, and families can sign up at any point during the summer.
Flyers are being distributed, posted, and shared.
The free Summer Feeding Program is for all children 18 and under. The program provides nutritious meals, including lunch, supper, milk, juice, canned goods and shelf-stable food items.

It is open to all children, regardless of income, residency or school enrollment. The Jasper School District is offering this program to support families in their community and surrounding areas.
Byrd also said strategies are being studied to increase school breakfast participation next school year.
Some new offerings will be on the menu next school year, Byrd promised.
