Happy Independence Day Americans! Deer's Festival and fireworks displays will be a great event for everyone and we thank all the volunteers who help make it possible!
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Dustin Middleton and best friend to our grandson Dalton Heffley and brother to his wife, Kaylie. There will be a fundraising event July 12, at 4 p.m. at the Deer School Gym to help with incurred costs and funeral expenses.
We congratulate Kim Liggett on her being selected for interim superintendent position for Jasper School District. We congratulate Kolby Middleton and Aydan Burdine winning state youth bass fishing tournament.
Johnny and Jesse Martin have been in the hay on Batson Mountain and Jesse and family are camped out at Piney Bbay and driving back and forth trying to get in hay amid the rain. Last year’s drought stored the rain for this year’s harvest. Rocky has been trying to help some on the weekends as well. Nick Martin is also working his hay, too, as is just about everybody! Now it makes for funny discussion after church as we will all be praying for rain after this season so we can get a fall harvest, too.
Cassville Baptist Church Has been enjoying their scheduled Bible class although we be few each Sunday morning and we have Brother Frank Hillis, who comes once or twice a month, and we do appreciate and enjoy him. We welcome our community to visit with us especially if you don’t have a church home. Jesus loves you and so do I.
