Three earthquakes strike near Strawberry

STRAWBERRY — The U.S. Geological Survey on Friday morning recorded three minor earthquakes.
The USGS registered a preliminary magnitude 2.2 quake at 7:28 a.m. Aug. 8.
It was centered about three miles southwest of Strawberry and 19.5 miles northeast of Batesville and had a depth of 9 miles.
Less than an hour later, the USGS recorded a magnitude 1.8 quake at 7:50 a.m.
It was centered 3.2 miles south-southwest of Strawberry and 20 miles east-northeast of Batesville and had a depth of 11 miles.
The USGS later reported a third earthquake had struck at 7:34 a.m. The M1.3 quake had a depth of 10.5 miles.
It was located about 2 miles southwest of Strawberry.
