The Welcome Center in Harrison will see its doors open for a little less time.
The Arkansas Welcome Center at Harrison has had its operating hours shortened. It will open at 8:30 a.m. and will close at 4:30 p.m.
The centers are open seven days a week, but closed on major holidays.
This was not a decision made in Boone County. The change will be for all welcome centers across the state. According to a representative from the Welcome Centers this change was made state-wide to better align with peak tourism travel times
In Arkansas, there are 13 different Welcome Centers located all throughout the state. Blytheville, El Dorado, and Texarkana are some of the cities across Arkansas with a Welcome Center. According to the Arkansas Tourism website, the Arkansas Welcome Centers “serves the traveling public well by offering a brief respite to travelers.”
Several centers offer Westrock Coffee and wi-fi. Annually more than a million visitors visit the centers.
When visiting each of the travel centers, there is a wide variety of information that can be found in communities across the state. The centers are organized by region.
