Donations make a difference in the lives of senior adults

Posted

Being old isn’t easy. Our society doesn’t always honor, support, or respond respectfully to old age but it’s not okay for any senior to be left behind, face hunger or feel isolated. That is what the Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center program does for the senior adults in our community. With the help of the senior center our seniors aren’t left behind, forgotten, or hungry. Instead, they can live out the independent lives they deserve and enjoy the kind of life-giving connections that will nourish them as they continue to age. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of our senior adults consider making an online tax-deductible donation to help support our program in Newton County. www.aaanwar.org/make-a-donation.
The center is able to provide meals for home bound seniors in Newton County. Unfortunately the center only receives 47% state and federal funding to cover the cost of meals and other services that the center provides. So the center is asking for your help by sponsoring a senior to cover their meals for a day, week, or month. • Suggested $4 donation per day • $28.00 per week • $124.00 a month (depending on days per month)
Meals at the center are served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The suggested donation for members is $4. No age limit and carry outs cost $6.60.
