RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - On Saturday, April 20, out at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex, the Arkansas Tech department of athletics and the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to put on Pack the Berm for ATU softball's game against Southeastern Oklahoma.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. that day and will last through Noon. First pitch for the Golden Suns' game against Southeastern Oklahoma is scheduled for Noon and those taking part in Pack the Berm are encouraged to stay for the game. Admission to Pack the Berm and the game will be FREE and open to the public.
Pack the Berm is an off-shoot of the popular Bash at the Ballpark event that was founded in 2014 by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and held a select Wonder Boys' baseball games each season. Taking on a softball-themed twist, Pack the Berm will look and feel like the Bash at the Ballpark events that Tech Athletic fans have come to expect and enjoy!
All youth softball and baseball players are invited to meet members of the ATU softball team and get their autographs. Free T-shirts will be handed out to the first 50 kids. All participants ages 5-12 can register to win a chance to throw out the first pitch. Kids will also have the chance to run the bases after the game on Saturday.
The event also features food, giveaways, bump and jumps and a variety of other family-oriented activities.
Pack the Berm 2024 Simmons Bank, Feltner's Athlete's Corner, Happy Jumper Inflatables, Healthy Connections, River Valley Medical Wellness and Mountain Mudd Sno Cones.
